Volixta Database Manager

Description

Volixta Database Manager is a WordPress database management plugin that helps you browse database tables, manage WordPress options, clean unnecessary data and optimize database performance directly from your WordPress dashboard.

Explore and search database tables, inspect stored data, remove expired transients, clean old revisions, detect orphaned and duplicate metadata, review potentially unused media and maintain database tables with built-in diagnostic and optimization tools.

Designed with safety in mind, Volixta Database Manager provides controlled editing, cleanup previews, confirmation for sensitive operations and scheduled database maintenance — without exposing an unrestricted SQL console.

Database overview

  • View database size, estimated row count, autoload size, reported free space and the largest tables.
  • See a WordPress Dashboard snapshot with database size, table count, autoload usage, reported overhead and largest-table information.
  • Open dedicated Overview, Tables, Options, Cleanup, Optimization, Settings and Volixta Ecosystem workspaces.
  • Use global search to quickly find tables, WordPress options and database tools.
  • Choose between Immersive, Focus and Standard interface palettes.

Volixta Ecosystem

  • Discover Volixta Analytics Lite, Volixta SSL & Security Headers and Volixta Booking.
  • Show installed and active statuses for free plugins already on the site.
  • Install and activate free plugins through native WordPress permission-checked, nonce-protected workflows.
  • Open active plugins or visit their official WordPress.org listings.
  • Follow the current Immersive, Focus or Standard workspace design.

Table Explorer

  • Browse and search database tables with Core / plugin-custom grouping.
  • Search text columns, apply column-specific filters, sort rows and paginate large tables.
  • Choose which columns are visible and store per-table visibility preferences in the browser.
  • Edit and delete rows in supported WordPress core and custom tables with confirmation.
  • Use WordPress APIs where appropriate to maintain data consistency.
  • Protect sensitive fields and critical WordPress data from direct modification.

Options Explorer

  • Search WordPress options by name or value and filter by autoload state.
  • View and manage standard WordPress and third-party plugin settings.
  • Edit non-serialized options with server-side validation.
  • Require confirmation before modifying or deleting options.
  • Protect serialized values from direct editing.
  • Restrict access to sensitive WordPress-managed API credentials.

Database Cleanup

Clean unnecessary WordPress database records using built-in cleanup tools, retention settings and confirmation workflows. Actions are organized into Safe, Review and Advanced risk levels.

  • Keep the newest post revisions per post and remove older revisions based on retention settings.
  • Remove expired transients, old auto-drafts, trashed posts, spam and trashed comments.
  • Review old unapproved comments, pingbacks and trackbacks before cleanup.
  • Detect and clean orphaned post, comment and user metadata.
  • Detect duplicate metadata across posts, comments, users and terms with a read-only report.
  • Preview and clean outdated WordPress oEmbed caches with explicit confirmation.
  • Identify potentially unused WordPress media with a read-only report and configurable exclusions.
  • Detect orphaned attachments and broken taxonomy relationships.
  • Preview cleanup candidates and process database cleanup in manageable batches.
  • Review cleanup history and previous maintenance activity.
  • Schedule Daily, Weekly or Monthly automatic database cleanup for eligible Safe categories.
  • Continue large scheduled cleanup jobs through bounded WP-Cron runs.

Table maintenance and optimization

Inspect and maintain WordPress database tables using dedicated diagnostic and optimization tools. Database cleanup and physical table maintenance are handled separately.

  • Inspect MySQL, MariaDB and Percona table and storage-engine information.
  • Review reported free space and conservative optimization recommendations, including stricter handling for InnoDB.
  • Run CHECK TABLE and ANALYZE TABLE diagnostics.
  • Run guarded REPAIR TABLE only for supported storage engines.
  • Run guarded OPTIMIZE TABLE with explicit confirmation and per-table feedback.

Safety by design

Volixta Database Manager provides database management and cleanup features with safeguards for important WordPress data.

  • Single-site access requires the WordPress manage_options capability.
  • On Multisite, database-wide access requires a Super Administrator with manage_network_options.
  • REST requests use the authenticated wp-admin session and WordPress wp_rest nonce.
  • Database operations use validated identifiers and prepared queries.
  • Editing and deletion require server-side confirmation.
  • Supported WordPress core tables use controlled editing and deletion.
  • Sensitive WordPress data and API credentials remain protected.
  • Serialized options are protected from direct editing.
  • Duplicate metadata and potentially unused media reports are read-only.
  • Potentially unused media is not automatically deleted by the media report.
  • Outdated oEmbed cache cleanup requires explicit confirmation.
  • Automatic cleanup is limited to eligible Safe categories.
  • Cleanup and table maintenance operations include additional safety checks.
  • The plugin does not expose an arbitrary SQL console.
  • The plugin does not make background telemetry or tracking requests.

Review prompt and interface

  • Optionally displays a dismissible WordPress.org review reminder after the plugin has been in use for a while.
  • Choose between Immersive, Focus and Standard interface palettes across the Volixta workspace and Dashboard integration.

Security and uninstall

  • Single-site access requires the WordPress manage_options capability.
  • On Multisite, database-wide access is restricted to Super Administrators with manage_network_options.
  • REST requests use WordPress REST cookie authentication plus the wp_rest nonce.
  • Uninstall removes only Volixta Database Manager settings, review state, transients and scheduled cleanup events.
  • Uninstall never deletes WordPress tables, content, or options belonging to WordPress or other plugins.
  • On Multisite uninstall, Volixta-owned settings and scheduled events are removed per site.
