• Dear Support Team,

I recently encountered an issue with my WordPress.org account and need your assistance.

    I originally had two accounts:

    • One created on August 3rd, 2012 and
    • Another one created on September 6th, 2020

The reason for creating the second account was that the name of the first account that didn’t align with the services I provide. Since in 2016 I stablished my own company, and I wanted my profile to reflect my company name. Therefore, I created a new account with the name of my company. After opening the new account, I transferred all my plugins from old account to the new and stopped using the old one.

A few days ago, I unknowingly made a review to a plugin using the old account, which led to it being disabled. I was unaware that having two accounts could cause issues. I contacted forum-password-resets@wordpress.org and learned that using two accounts simultaneously is not allowed. Since I no longer need the old account, I have no problem with it being permanently deleted.

However, after this happened, I found that I am also unable to reply to support threads using my new account! When I try, I see the message: You cannot reply to this topic. This is a critical issue because I have two plugins with 2,000+ and 7,000+ active installs, and I frequently receive support requests. If I am unable to respond, it will negatively impact both users and my plugin’s reputation.

I sincerely request that my new account be allowed to reply in support threads. Again, I have no issue with the old account being permanently removed, as I have no intention of using it. My priority is ensuring that I can continue providing support to my plugin users. I have created this topic using the new account.

I appreciate your time and assistance. Looking forward to your response.

    Best regards,
    Iftekhar Alam
